MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Dr. Mike Gross is a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey and a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) who specializes in athlete mental wellness and performance. Dr. Mike is Founder & Director of TriState SportPsych. He is also a Staff Psychologist at Princeton University where he provides counseling and outreach services to the Athletic Department.
We formed TriState SportPsych with the idea that athletes could benefit from having a confidential, comfortable place to explore life both inside and outside of sport. We have extensive experience treating mental health and performance concerns among athletes but at the very heart of our work is a belief that we can help athletes who want to have better athletic and personal lives, better relationships, more balance, and greater purpose. We understand the positives and negatives of the athletic culture. We understand the unique stressors athlete’s face. And most of all we understand the value of developing healthy, honest, and authentic relationships with those we have the pleasure to work with in our practice.
Our experienced team of New Jersey based sport psychologists are dedicated to promoting the psychological health and emotional wellness of athletes. We offer personal counseling for a variety of common concerns faced by athletes.
The TriState SportPsych approach is grounded in the science of high performance and focused on the process of obtaining athletic success. We work with athletes of all ages and levels of competition.
We offer general psychotherapy for non-athletes and those looking to improve performance in non-athletic professions. Other specialized services include eating & weight disorder treatment, personalized meditations, mindfulness training, outreach presentations, and professional supervision and training.
