Why Centered Parents?

Many families who enter Centered Parents, are deeply committed to their child’s development in sport. Yet, many feel stuck.

Prior to starting Centered Parents, parents often experience the following:

  • A sense of being “tuned out” by their child
  • Frustration with their child’s behavior and performance in sport
  • Uncertainty about when to push, when to support, and when to step back
  • Strong emotional reactions to games, practices, and competitions
  • Worry about saying the “wrong thing” or making things worse
  • Difficulty communicating without it turning into conflict
  • Feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted by being a sport parent
  • Feeling unable to “get through” despite good intentions

Centered Parents offers parents an approach that helps them get unstuck and reconnected in ways that support both enjoyment and success – for themselves and their child.

Individual Coaching & Support

Over the course of the program, you’ll meet with Dr. Mike for six individual sessions.

These sessions focus on:

  • Reviewing each module
  • Addressing obstacles
  • Applying skills to your specific situation
  • Building and understanding long-term mental skills that will benefit you and your child

You’re not left to “figure it out” alone – support and accountability are built in.

Some parents choose to continue with additional individual sessions after completing the program. Ongoing coaching is available upon request.

Group Programs & Workshops

Centered Parents is also available in group format for teams, schools, and organizations seeking to support parents at a broader level.

Group programs are customized to meet the needs of each organization and may be delivered as single workshops or multi-session series.

Getting Started

Centered Parents begins with a brief phone consultation with Dr. Mike to understand your goals and determine the best fit for the program.

From there, you will complete an intake with Dr. Mike, and receive access to program materials, guided meditations, and your individualized session plan.

The process is structured, supportive, and designed to help you build lasting mental skills for you and your child.
